The Water
This picture was taken from inside the School/Church/Clinic in Cite Soleil that we worked out of. The water you see is used by the people to bathe and swim in. It is filled will trash and sewage and has a rancid smell that almost knocks you off your feet.
Feeding Project
This picture was taken while over looking a slum of Port-au-Prince, Haiti called Cite Soleil (Sun City). This slum houses an estimate of 300,000 people. Our team was here for three days. We conducted a school, clinic, and feeding project out of the same building.
Outside the Church
He sleeps outside of this church in Lima every night with a broken leg. We bandaged his leg for him, gave him a bottle of aspirin, water, bread, tooth brush, and tooth paste. He was so grateful that he blessed everything we gave him.
Mother and Child
Mother and child begging in Lima, Peru. The look on this mother's face explains more about her situation than I ever could.
Chicken Dinner
The musician and his cousin. We took them and a friend out to a chicken dinner and when we got to the restaurant I was amazed at how much the five year old could do on his own. However, I was quickly brought back to reality when I watched him trying to cut his chicken. He was basically beating it with the handle end of a butter knife. My motherly instincts kicked in as I remembered how I always had my mom there to cut-up my food for me. So, I cut his chicken for him.
Five Year Old Musician
This five-year-old musician lives on the streets of Cusco, Peru. The tin can in his hands is used with a shell to create music to entice passersby's to give him a little change. He uses the little orange bowl in front of him as a collection cup and any time someone puts money in it, he waits until they walk away and puts the money in his shoe.
